May 21 – The Present State of Child Care in North Texas
Please note that we are meeting at the newly renovated Villages of Woodland Springs Amenities Center located at 12209 Timberland Lane, Fort Worth, TX 76244
Willie Rankin, the Director of the Institute to Advance Child Care (IACC) will be our guest speaker for our May 21st meeting. Mr Rankin, a Marine Corps and Iraq War veteran, will be discussing the present state of child care in North Texas, solutions IACC is working towards to improve child care and early childhood education in our area & the newly formed Blue Ribbon Action Committee on Child Care. Parents, grandparents, child care providers, those considering becoming child care providers will find this very informative and much needed & timely discussion.
Doors will open at the Villages of Woodland Springs Amenity Center at 8:30am, meeting begins at 9:00am with Q&A session ending at 10:30am.

Councilmen Flores and Moon will be presenting the upcoming Bond Proposals and the changes to the City Charter.
Come hear about the projects in our area. There are many!

This is in preparation for the May elections.

DJ Holling Director of Development Services and Mirian Spencer Transportation Impact Fee Coordinator will talk about “Transportation Impact Fees 101.” The purpose of this presentation is a background in what TrIF are, how they are calculated, and how they are applied to projects. How these fees are applied makes a huge difference in the amount of money the City gets from new developments to build new arterials.
